My interest in electronics stems from an ARRL handbook presented to me by a friend in 1957.  From that I built a power supply for a 2 meter rig that I was putting together.  Building power supplies and amplifiers was met with the greatest expectation and excitement during those formative years.  I have been in the telecommunication and broadcasting industry since 1963 starting at a small college radio station with a Gates transmitter.  My experience spans many years, holding positions from operations, engineering and design, manufacturing, marketing/sales to company ownership and management.

After completing a tour of duty with the USAF and returning from South East Asia in 1967 I worked for a contractor of the Atomic Energy Commission at the Nevada test site.  My duty was maintenance and operation of HF transmitters and later 2-way radio followed by closed circuit television and microwave systems.  During that time I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Nevada at Las Vegas paid by the GI Bill and my employer pursuing a degree in Business management and marketing.

I have operated a telecommunications business through the 70's and joined the RCA Service company in 1980 as a field engineer for television transmitters.  Later positions with Post Newsweek in Miami as a supervisor of the transmitter plant and moving to project design/sales as SE RF manager for Midwest Communications.  I have served as Director of Engineering for two commercial broadcast groups, national sales manager for two transmitter manufacturers, regional director of engineering for PAX (ION) TV, as well as, a professional broadcast RF consultant and manufacturer of solid-state transmitters.  I have consulted as VP, and national sales for digital microwave systems acting as a design resource for the customer and value added reseller of products.  My latest venture was a Sr Broadcast Engineer with Qualcomm, Inc building the FLO-TV network.

After 5 decades in broadcasting I always look forward to the next exciting challenge in the industry as it evolves to future visions and expectations market.  I have always strived to provide excellent service for the value and look forward to your challenges and opportunities and how DBK Com may assist you.  Below are some of my certifications through the years.
